Training General Practitioners

We are a training practice and Dr Hall and Dr Knox are qualified as GP Trainers. As a practice, we undertake undergraduate and post-graduate training of GP Specialist Registrars. Registrars are fully qualified doctors preparing to enter general practice and their training will be supervised by Drs Hall and Knox. The GP Registrars will be holding their own clinics and will see patients as normal. This training will also involve video recorded consultations for which we will ask your permission before any recording with the registrar will take place. Your written consent will be needed for this. If you choose not to have your consultation recorded, this will not affect your care here at the practice. Patients can refuse to see the GP Specialist Registrar or Medical Students.

Part of being a training practice involves regular inspections where approved doctors will visit the surgery to look at the medical records we hold.  Confidentiality of the medical records will be upheld. Only with your written consent can a visiting doctor look at your medical records.

Medical Students
We often take undergraduate medical students at the practice. They spend up to 3 months with us at the practice. During their time here they may be in consultation rooms with the doctors. You will be informed if this is the case and you will have to option to allow the student to be present while you have a consultation with the doctor.
